The late Richard Blakeney (19??- 2019) was born in the USA.  After his retirement around 1990, Richard moved permanently to Thailand, and he dedicated his life to collect and study Thailand related philatelic material.  He collected not only postage stamps but literally everything related to Thai Philately. This included registration labels, cancellations, Cinderella stamps, pictures of the Thai Post Offices and his greatest passion, revenue stamps. On all these subjects, he published 12, groundbreaking Thailand Philatelic handbooks. All these books are posted on my website om the homepage, bottom left.

His Revenue Stamp Handbook, Volume 8, is currently being updated by me and the updated 2025 edition is also posted on my website, home page top left.

In 2014, his revenue stamp exhibition collection was sold on Eurseree.

Eurseree, auction number 34 on March 2014, lot 101 - lot 135 and auction number 35, August 2014 lot 114.  Total sales were baht 440,00 or about USD 13,000. Nine lots were unsold. The auctions can be found at www.eurseree.com  Click on “auctions” on the page middle left. Then click on “past auctions’ middle of the page on the right and then go to sale 34 and or sale 35.

The complete collection can be seen under Richard Blakeney, Thailand Revenue Exhibitions

A 2018 exhibit from Richard Blakeney: Thailand Revenues, Tobacco and Beverage Stamps will be posted in my July 2025 Blog update. This exhibit is unique because till today, no exhibitor has ever posted a complete 5 frame display on Thailand Tobacco and Revenue stamps. This is a very interesting subject but not yet popular to collect. Many stamps are rare and unique, but they are often damaged, and they are so difficult to identify.
