Spanish Philippines Telegraph Stamp Catalog

The telegraph was first introduced in the Philippines in 1872 during the Spanish colonial era, with the initial line connecting Manila to Corregidor. By 1880, a submarine cable linked Bolinao, Pangasinan, to Hong Kong, integrating the Philippines into the global telegraph network. The first telegraph stamp was also introduced in 1872. In years when there were shortages of telegraph stamps, existing postal or revenue stamps were used instead.
